Meet The Support & Kindness Podcast Team
Four People | Different Lives | One Shared Belief
That honest conversation and human kindness can help people feel less alone.
The Support and Kindness Podcast brings together Greg, Rich, Liam, and Sarah for warm, candid conversations about mental health, brain injury, chronic pain, disability, recovery, relationships, and everyday kindness.
We speak from lived experience, not as medical or mental health professionals. We do not pretend to have every answer. We listen, ask honest questions, and make room for different points of view.
Greg Shaw, Host

Hi, I’m Greg. I’m originally from Barrow-in-Furness, England, and I now call Columbus, Ohio, home. I’m the host of The Support & Kindness Podcast, a peer-support group facilitator, and the creator of KindnessRX.
I live with the effects of multiple traumatic brain injuries, PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and disability. I know what it feels like to need support, feel unheard, and keep searching for help when life is difficult. Those experiences led me to create spaces where people can have honest conversations without being judged or expected to pretend they are okay.
I’m not a therapist or medical expert. I’m a peer, an advocate, and someone who believes kindness and human connection matter. Through the podcast and KindnessRX, I hope to help people feel heard, supported, and a little less alone.
Rich, Co-host
Hi, I’m Rich. I grew up on a bike or skateboard, usually throwing myself at, over, or off anything around me. Team sports have also been part of my life, first as a player, then as a coach, and now as a fan.
Somewhere between team sports and extreme sports, I experienced several traumatic brain injuries. Those injuries eventually led me to peer-support groups, where I found people who understood parts of life that can be difficult to explain.
The friendships and conversations that grew from those groups helped inspire The Support & Kindness Podcast. I’m proud to be part of a show where honest conversation, humor, and lived experience can help people feel less alone.

Liam, Co-host

Greetings and salutations to the Support & Kindness community! I’m Liam the Conqueror.
Early in life, I experienced trauma, including injury, abuse, and violence. I also discovered music and writing, which became important parts of my life. At 16, I played my first professional gig as a drummer. That began an almost 30-year career performing across the United States.
Along the way, I faced addiction to drugs and alcohol. I later experienced a spinal injury that affected many parts of my life, including my ability to walk.
My recovery has been supported by meetings, peer groups, and many wonderful people. That winding journey gently parachuted me into The Support & Kindness Podcast, where I’m grateful to have found a comfortable place to land.
Sarah, Co-host
Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m a foul-mouthed Christian with too much sarcasm and not nearly enough self-control. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and I’m a die-hard Buckeye fan, although the thought of being stuck in Ohio forever still terrifies me.
I’m a mom to three of the best humans ever, a dog mom to the cutest mini Australian Labradoodle in existence, and a proud aunt to seven amazing little people. I’m also a partially paralyzed spinal cord injury survivor.
I’ve lived with arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, trauma, and addiction. Those experiences have given me a deep sense of empathy and an ability to connect with people without judging them.
We’re not experts, and we’re definitely flawed. But we’re honest about what we know, what we don’t know, and what life can really look like. I hope our podcast and support groups help people feel understood, supported, and welcome. There is a place here for you.
