KindnessRX.org is an online platform dedicated to exploring the science and practice of kindness as a “prescription” for improved well-being, connection, and resilience. We offer evidence-based information, practical tools (like our Kindness Toolkit and Challenges), and supportive online peer communities to help individuals cultivate kindness towards themselves and others.
We use “Kindness as RX” (prescription) metaphorically. Compelling scientific research shows that practicing kindness, compassion, and empathy has measurable positive effects on our mental health (reducing stress, boosting happiness), social connections, and even physical health (like cardiovascular benefits). We present kindness not just as a virtue, but as a practical, evidence-informed strategy for enhancing overall well-being. Learn more on our Science of Kindness pages.
No, absolutely not. The content on KindnessRX.org and the discussions within our peer support communities are for informational, educational, and mutual support purposes only. They do not constitute professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or therapy. Please consult with qualified healthcare professionals for any personal health concerns. Read our full Disclaimer for more details.
Our peer support communities are online groups hosted via the GoBrunch platform. They provide safe spaces for individuals with shared lived experiences (related to mental health, chronic illness, life challenges, recovery, identity, etc.) to connect, offer mutual understanding, share coping strategies, and reduce feelings of isolation. These groups are peer-led, meaning they are facilitated by individuals with relevant experience, not necessarily licensed therapists.
Joining is simple!
1. Read our Community Guidelines to understand expectations.
2. Visit the Upcoming Events / Schedule page to find meeting times and topics.
3. Click the specific GoBrunch link provided for the meeting you wish to attend at the scheduled time. For more details on the platform, see our Join Our Community / How GoBrunch Works page.
We require all members to uphold strict confidentiality as outlined in our Community Guidelines. What is shared in the group stays in the group. However, please remember that online interactions carry inherent risks, and absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed by all participants. Be mindful of the personal information you choose to share.
Our Community Guidelines, which outline expectations for respectful and safe interaction, can be found here: Community Guidelines. Adherence is required for participation in our community spaces.
